Constitution

Some Basic Principles

To understand the significance of the Constitution, we must first understand some basic, eternal principles. These principles have their beginning in the premortal councils of heaven.

The Principle of Agency

The first basic principle is agency. The central issue in the premortal council was: Shall the children of God have untrammeled agency to choose the course they should follow, whether good or evil, or shall they be coerced and forced to be obedient? Christ and all who followed him stood for the former proposition--freedom of choice; Satan stood for the latter--coercion and force. The war that began in heaven over this issue is not yet over. The conflict continues on the battlefield of mortality. And one of Lucifer's primary strategies has been to restrict our agency through the power of earthly governments.

Look back in retrospect on almost six thousand years of human history! Freedom's moments have been infrequent and exceptional. We must appreciate that we live in one of history's most exceptional moments--in a nation and a time of unprecedented freedom. Freedom as we know it has been experienced by perhaps less than one percent of the human family.

The Proper Role of Government

The second basic principle concerns the function and proper role of government. These are the principles that, in my opinion, proclaim the proper role of government in the domestic affairs of the nation.

[I] believe that governments were instituted of God for the benefit of man; and that he holds men accountable for their acts in relation to them. . . .

[I] believe that no government can exist in peace, except such laws are framed and held inviolate as will secure to each individual the free exercise of conscience, the right and control of property, and the protection of life. . . .

[I] believe that all men are bound to sustain and uphold the respective governments in which they reside, while protected in their inherent and inalienable rights by the laws of such governments. [D&C 134:1­2, 5]

In other words, the most important single function of government is to secure the rights and freedoms of individual citizens.

Tea Parties

Sorry, it has def been awhile. I just spend so much time on facebook and debating, and school and sister getting married. Oh yeah married this week end, that I haven't really spent the time on the blog. I have a ton of stuff. Oh and by the way if you like Glenn Beck, and are like me, either without TV or it is just not convenient, I am putting Glenn Becks show up for everyone to watch. I'll put the link on the side bar so you won't have to looking around for it.

This past wednesday, I went to the Tea party in SLC and it was snowing. Regardless, there were still many people there showing how upset they where with the out of control Goverment spending.

Stimulation




So it has finally happened, a huge step (one of many more I am sure) toward becoming a socialist country like everyone else. America used to be different then all the other countries and people wanted to come here. Well now that those people are here they want to make America the same as the country that they have come from, which in turn will make America as the same as the other countries. The founding fathers had America to go to for freedom, but now where are we supposed to go? Why can't we just listen to the experience of the founding fathers and apply the writings of the constitution. D&C 101 tells us the purpose of the constitution.

 77 According to the laws and aconstitution of the people, which I have suffered to be established, and should be maintained for the brights and protection of all flesh, according to just and holy principles;
  78 That every man may act in doctrine and principle pertaining to futurity, according to the moral aagency which I have given unto him, that every man may be baccountable for his own sins in the day of cjudgment.
  79 Therefore, it is not right that any man should be in abondage one to another.
  80 And for this purpose have I established the aConstitution of this land, by the hands of wise men whom I raised up unto this very purpose, and redeemed the land by the bshedding of blood.


Orson Hyde recalled that the Prophet predicted that “the time would come that the Constitution and the country would be in danger of an overthrow and said he, if the constitution be saved at all, it will be by the Elders of this Church. I believe this is about the language as nearly as I can recollect it.” (JD, 6:150.)

This prophecy is truly coming to pass in this day and our current president is causing this to happen quicker then ever before. We must now, more then ever, stand on our principals, for if we do not, then where are we left standing? We can not let others push us off our principals in the name of "tolerance." Remember your freedom ends when it starts to affect anothers. Well now that I feel a little less frustrated, enjoy these cartoons.

Random

Well I don't know if everyone got the memo, but apparently BO (Barrack Obama) is already trying to screw us over. This "stimulus" bill of over 800 Billion Dollars is 60% government spending and 40% tax cuts. So what does he have planned for the Gov to spend billions of dollars that we don't have on? "The Economic Stimulus Package: Congress is preparing to vote on an $825 billion stimulus package this week, and the San Francisco liberals led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) have loaded this bill up with wasteful spending, including billions of dollars for contraceptives and the abortion industry, while eliminating abstinence education funding.

Other spending in this stimulus includes: $50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts, 
$200 million for the National Mall - including $21 million for sod - and up to $145 billion in so-called emergency education spending, more than twice the entire current discretionary budget for the U.S. Department of Education.

Pelosi bills this package as an economic stimulus, but only seven percent of the legislation actually goes towards infrastructure. The rest is a gift to liberal groups for the Democrats' election successes.

I wonder what it will take for people to realize that socialism doesn't work. Just look at other countries who have adopted this form of government. You know the whole idea of "don't worry about anything, you'll be taken care of" mentality sounds quite familiar. Kinda like the preexistence and the whole war in heaven sorta thing. Wait what was that war all about? Two brothers with different ideas on how would help us return to live with God again. Now wait what were those ideas? Aw yes thats right, one that was presented by Lucifer, that everyone, no matter what, would again return to God again. Sounds like a good plan right? I mean God loves us all so he must have picked that plan right? Nope, I am sorry, it seems that this is something we must work at, but why? Well the first plan would have put us here and get a body which we need right? Then we would be given eternal life and everyone would be happy and have the experience we were supposed to have right?

Well do you typically know how to do something without doing it yourself? Maybe you do, I know that for me, unless I learn how to do it and actually do it. Like riding a bike, looks easy to do, until you hop on and give it a try, and another try, and another until it finally comes to you. Failure is a part of life, get used to it. Failure makes us try harder and we succeed, the success is that much sweeter.

A story my dad told me comes to mind. Although I don't remember it word for word, it's meaning is powerful.
There was once this young boy who had become of age to start driving. He asked his dad if he would get buy him a car, and his dad told him no, but that if he worked and saved up a thousand dollars and brought it to him, then they would go out and buy him a car. The son agrees and leaves. A week later he is still trying to figure out how is going to make a thousand dollars to give to his dad and tells mom of his problem. Mom being the kind person that she is, gives her son the thousand dollars, but tells him not to give it to dad right away so dad won't wonder how he got the money so fast. A month later he approaches his dad who is standing by the fire and hands him a shoe box with the thousand dollars inside. The father tells him what a good job that he has done, and how hard he must have worked to get the money. Then the father dumps the shoebox out into the fire. They both sat quietly and watched the money burn. The son then got upset and asked what he was doing, the father replied " when you earn a thousand dollars then come talk to me about getting you a car."

The son grumbling left feeling like he had been cheated. The next day he leaves and gets a job. With the low paying job that he has he realizes it is going to take him forever to get the thousand dollars, so he gets a second job and works all he can with the vision of the car in the back of his mind. Months pass by and the mother becomes worried. Father reassures her that their son is fine and that he his finally learning how to work. The son finally comes home, looking tired and beat and walks up to his father and hands him the shoe box which had filled with the thousand dollars needed to buy the car. The father opens the box and looks inside. After seeing that the money is all there he once again dumps the money into the fire. The son goes ballistic, pushing dad out of the way, diving into the fire, pulling out all the money that he could, money that he had earned. The father puts his hand on his sons shoulder and pulls him back. "Now that I know you earned the money, lets go get you that car."

When we sacrifice we give value to that we have sacrificed for.
 If you give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll be able to eat his entire life.

Well now that I have vented a little, I'll finish up with some questions and some quotes. These questions I have had for a very long time so if you have an answer please help me out here.

Why do people think it is okay to steal from one person and give it to another?
Why do people think abortion is okay but that the death penalty isn't?
Why is there a spot on forms to fill in what race you are if we are trying for racial equality?
Why are Atheist offend by the 10 commandments if they don't believe in God?
Why so many whys? Seems everything sounds a bit hypocritical.

School

So I have started a new semester at a new school, which is pretty cool, now I don't have to drive to SLC to go to the LDSBC. After a long fight UVU finally decided to give me instate, which is really good otherwise I would again be driving to SLC to go to school. Today I was an hour early to school and sat in the class before mine and got all ready for class, happy that parking wasn't so bad, until the teacher walked in and I realized that I was in the wrong class and I was an hour early. So I quickly left class and decided it would be a good time to get a parking permit.

I walk to my car and realize how cold it is. (I shaved my head and now realize how warm the hair keeps you.) I grab my temporary registration, (I still haven't received my title from Cali to get Utah plates and now it's too late to get reregistered in Cali without paying a whole bunch of late fees. I have had temp tags since Nov now) and get that all taken care of. I go back to my car and I have a parking ticket, ha, like I am paying that. My plates will be changed soon and they have my Cali plates marked as Utah on the ticket.

Oh and I finally got my concealed carry permit so pretty much where ever I go, mainly school until I get a job, I am packing heat. I have this pretty nice holster for it that makes it so no one can tell. The thing is that it takes about an inch or two out of the waist size so my pants now fit very snug and I have to wear them higher, which can be uncomfortable at times. I got my concealed weapons permit when I found out Obama won. Then 2 weeks later I bought a gun, it seemed so did everyone else as everyone was selling out, especially assault rifles. I guess we'll find out in the next 4 years if we really need an arsenal.

Bahamian adventure

So me and my family are in Florida for new years at universal Orlando and the next day we have a cruise to the bahamas that leaves jacksonville. We leave our hotel and search for a Zaxbys restaurant that was supposed to be a 14 min drive from the apt. Of course we get lost but finally find it and get it to go, so we wouldn't have to worry about being late to the ship. About halfway through the drive my mom realizes that the time we were going to arrive at is the time the ship is leaving port. So my dad is driving 90 in a mini van and my mom is on the phone with the cruise and doing the math it looks like we aren't going to make it. We arrive at the port at 4pm watched the cruise ship start up the motors and the port guard tell us it's too late. 

We had missed the cruise. Wow, who does that. So we ended up driving down to miami and we all caught a flight to the bahamas to catch up with the cruise ship, which we did and were happy to finally be on the boat. Even though the cruise for us was cut down to 3 days, it was still worth it. 80 degrees everyday, volley ball, drunk moms, tan bodies and last but defiantly not least, food. Food at all hours, and all you can eat. There is much more but I am getting hungry/bored so if ya wanna know, you'll have to ask.
